The meeting room will open at 6:00 PM for visiting with friends and enjoying some refreshment (not necessarily in that order). The meeting will start at

Meet at Kohl’s at 4:30 pm. The bus leaves sharply at 5:00 pm. Return from Beethoven leaving San Antonio at 10:00 pm.

Thank You

I would like to thank everyone who came out to help us make the Wein & Saengerfest a success.
We did very well, but not as we expected due to the arrangements by the W & S organization.  We made some profit and we sold at the picnic the extra pork chops to our members. Now, at our meeting, we still have sausage for sale (a package of 20 for only $10.) so bring your checkbook to the next meeting to get some of the best sausage in town.
I would also like to thank Sylvia and Lou who decorated the picnic area for our picnic. A big thank you to Barry and others for the good organization of the picnic, it was very well attended.
Kevin and Robert who furnished our entertainment were, as always, outstanding.

Summer German Camp for Children
Just a reminder to all parents, grandparents and friends of children that might like to enjoy a summer camp learning the basics of German, our society is sponsoring the camp that begins June 7 and ends June 18.  The camp will be held at Heritage Park and is for children 6 through 13.  For more information call Diane Moltz at 660 0437 or 620 6787.

Spaßzeit für alle!

(Fun Time For All!)

At our Maifest (picnic in the park), we were once again be able to enjoy the special talents of Kevin Hatcher and Robert Atwood.  These two men have played for us several times, and each time everyone enjoys hearing them play their and our favorite German tunes,

At the upcoming June Meeting, we will have special entertainment by the four Baker children -- Emma, Hannah, Chuck, and Jack.  We have enjoyed their up and coming musicianship previously, and it will again be a pleasure to hear them play patriotic tunes, along with many of your favorite German songs.

Wine & Saenger Fest

A BIG THANKS to ALL the members (and even a couple of non-members) who pitched in together to make the 2010 Wine & Saengerfest another profitable and FUN activity for our Society!
I cannot remember when we enjoyed the level of participation from all of you who were able to assist your committee chairpersons. Although we did not do as well financially, fun was had by all, which is also a big priority. I believe there were never less than eight or nine volunteers all the way to the end, which is grunt work, tearing down and hauling the equipment. The general agreement primarily blames the changes in the Saengerfest layout as the culprit for our decrease in sales. For those not able to attend, we were located on the opposite end of town from most of the activity. Business was very slow, particularly during the last two or three hours.  During this time we were blessed with extremely loud “music” and young folks who didn’t care to eat.  Again, thanks to all.

Upcoming Bus Trip

Join us for a few hours of Gemütlichkeit, which means Beer, Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Wine, Goulash, Strudel, Sing-a-longs, Kameradschaft with your friends, and more Beer.  This will be on Friday, June 18th, 2010. We will leave on a nice bus at 5 pm from the Kohl's parking lot and will be back around 11 pm.  The price is $10 per person and, friends, I tell you, that is a bargain. You do NOT have to mess with San Antonio traffic or find a parking space. The bus will drop us off at the front gate of the gardens. Beethoven Gardens will admit us for free and, afterwards, we will be picked up at the front gate to ride back home. Anybody who has been on a trip like this with the German American Club can tell you how much fun we have lubricating our voices at Beethoven's and then singing on the way home. The Beethoven Concert Band and the New Braunfels Village Brass Band will play the best German music for miles around. There will be a sign-up sheet at the June meeting. Please pay when you sign up to get a seat on the bus.
