Americana Pictures
At our March meeting, we’ll hear a short presentation by Merlin Miller who is a Steuben Society member and President of Americana Pictures. Merlin is touring the country to inform the public in order to get their support for a major motion picture his company is planning to film this September. It will be called, The Liberator, and is the true story of Arminius (Hermann), who in 9 AD, united the German tribes to expel the Roman occupiers from Germany.
For further information about his company, its website is: www.americana-pictures.com.

Deutsch Sprachkurs
German Class
Our Adult German Class which is held at Gruene United Methodist Church each Thursday is going very well. About thirty adults and several young adults are enjoying a fast paced lesson using a multi-sensory approach each week. Our teacher, Gigi Vaughn, and several of her students will be going to Germany at the end of the session.
We will again be having our German Language Camp for children this summer from June 7-June 18. Classes will be at the Heritage Park Grounds in the old Solms School building. As in the past, we will have a morning class from 9:00-12:00 for beginners and an afternoon class from 1:00-4:00 for students with prior class experience. Mary Irwin, a music teacher at DeZavala Elem., incorporates music, games, and dances to make the classes educational and enjoyable. We hope to see some children and/or grandchildren of some of our members. For more information call 660 0437 or 620 6787.

Spaßzeit für alle!
(Fun Time For All!)
Just in time to get ready for the Chinese New Year, our February meeting's entertainment took us to the ancient country of China, at least in pictures. Helgard Suhr-Hollis shared her wonderful experiences with us and gave us a glimpse into the culture of a very foreign country. Thank you, Helgard, for sharing your travels with us.
March's entertainment will feature the Edelweiss Kinderchor von New Braunfels. The group of youngsters will once again sing many familiar German folksongs for your listening pleasure.
See you in March!
